WHAT WAS CLAIMED
Donald Trump has called Anthony Albanese a loser in a Truth Social post about the lifting of beef import restrictions.
OUR VERDICT
False. The post is fake.
AAP FACTCHECK - Donald Trump did not call Anthony Albanese a "loser" in a social media post about the lifting of the US beef import ban, despite claims online.
The fake post originated from an account known for spoof content and there is no evidence the US president authored the post.
"I convinced Australia's PM, Anthony 'Airbus' Albanese, to take our American beef!" the supposed Truth Social post reads.
"Next up, I will convince this LOSER to drop the upcoming social media ban he wants to introduce. Total RETARD!
"We love Australia, but their leaders are STUPID people."
It goes on to insult former prime ministers Malcolm Turnbull and Kevin Rudd.
The post refers to the federal government's decision in July 2025 to lift import restrictions on American beef products.

In 2003, Australia banned American beef after products were found to have bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), also known as mad cow disease.
Although the restrictions on the US were lifted six years ago, cattle from Canada and Mexico were still banned and their mixture across supply chains meant the ban still applied to the US.
The post is made to look as if it comes from the president's Truth Social account, under his handle, "@realDonaldTrump".
However, there is no evidence Trump authored the post.
Using reverse image search, the earliest version of the fake post AAP FactCheck could find was on X on July 25, before it began spreading on Facebook.
The X account posts spoof content about Australian politics.
It's not the first time the account has caused confusion about communications between the White House and Canberra, with previous spoof posts taking aim at Kevin Rudd and free speech.
Trump did post about the policy change on his official Truth Social account, but said to his followers: "After many years Australia has agreed to accept American Beef! For a long time, and even though we are great friends, they actually banned our Beef.
"Now, we are going to sell so much to Australia because this is undeniable and irrefutable Proof that U.S. Beef is the Safest and Best in the entire World."
